Overview

Jeuveau® (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs) is a botulinum toxin type A produced by Evolus using a proprietary purification process the company calls Hi-Pure™ Technology. Like other neuromodulators, it temporarily blocks nerve signals to the corrugator and procerus muscles, allowing the skin between the brows to smooth out as those muscles relax.

Jeuveau® holds a focused FDA approval for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines in adults, and that is the primary area where Dr. Zaks uses it. Many patients begin seeing improvement as early as day two after treatment. Dr. Zaks injects every patient personally, choosing between Jeuveau®, Botox® Cosmetic, and Dysport® based on your anatomy, response history, and how quickly you would like to see change. Jeuveau®, like other botulinum toxin products, is not appropriate during pregnancy.

What It Treats

Glabellar Frown Lines

The FDA-approved indication — vertical '11' lines between the eyebrows caused by corrugator and procerus contraction.

Angry or Tired Expression

Persistent glabellar furrowing can read as anger or fatigue at rest; softening those muscles restores a more neutral expression.

Early Etched Lines

Lines that are beginning to remain visible at rest often respond well before they become deeply set in the skin.

Fast-Onset Preference

Patients who want visible change quickly often prefer Jeuveau®, with improvement frequently noted from day two.

Combination Planning

Jeuveau® addresses dynamic lines; volume loss and static creases are treated separately with hyaluronic acid fillers.

The Treatment Experience

  1. Consultation with Dr. Zaks

Your glabellar complex is assessed in animation, prior treatments are reviewed, and Dr. Zaks confirms whether Jeuveau® is the best neuromodulator for you.

  2. Injection appointment

Treatment takes roughly ten minutes using a fine needle. No anesthesia is required and you can drive yourself home.

  3. Onset and maintenance

Many patients see softening by day two, with full effect by two weeks. Dosing is adjusted at your next treatment if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hi-Pure™ Technology?

It is Evolus's proprietary manufacturing and purification process for Jeuveau®. Practically speaking, it describes how the product is produced and purified; your results still depend primarily on accurate dosing and injection technique.

How quickly does Jeuveau® work?

Many patients notice improvement as early as day two after treatment, with the full effect typically visible by about two weeks.

How long do results last?

Approximately three to four months for most patients, similar to other botulinum toxin type A products. Duration varies with dose and individual metabolism.

Can Jeuveau® be used outside the frown lines?

Its FDA approval is specific to moderate to severe glabellar lines, and that is where Dr. Zaks primarily uses it. For other areas he will discuss the most appropriate product and plan with you.

Is there any downtime?

None. Small injection-site bumps settle within about an hour. Avoid rubbing the area and stay upright for a few hours after treatment.

Can I alternate Jeuveau® with other neuromodulators?

Yes. Some patients respond better to one product than another, and Dr. Zaks will convert dosing appropriately when switching between Jeuveau®, Botox® Cosmetic, and Dysport®.
